Terms of Use (ToU)

1. Legal information

VisitItForMe is a Simplified Joint-Stock Company (SAS) with a capital of €1,000, headquartered at 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, registered in the Paris Trade and Companies Register.

2. Acceptance of the Terms of Use

The use of the VisitItForMe platform implies full and unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions. Each user declares that they have read and accepted these Terms of Use upon registration or when creating a request.

3. Registration and account

  • Registration is mandatory to post or respond to a request
  • The user agrees to provide accurate information when creating the account.
  • Only one account is allowed per person.
  • In case of fraudulent behavior, VisitItForMe may suspend or delete an account without notice.

4. Service overview

VisitItForMe is a platform connecting:

  • Clients (people looking for housing),
  • and Sherlock (locals visiting properties on behalf of Clients).

The platform allows:

  • posting a request
  • choosing a Sherlock,
  • and receiving a detailed visit report.

5. User obligations

For Clients:

  • Provide accurate information about the property to be visited.
  • Do not cancel at the last minute without valid reason.
  • Pay the agreed amount plus service fees.

For Sherlock:

  • Respect the scheduled date and time.
  • Visit the property according to the received instructions.
  • Provide a complete and honest report.
  • Do not contact the Client outside the platform without authorization.

6. Payments and transactions

  • The Client offers an amount for each visit.
  • A 10% service fee is added to the amount during payment.
  • After validation of the visit, 80% of the proposed amount is paid to the Sherlock, with 20% kept by VisitItForMe.

Payment is processed securely via our payment partner. VisitItForMe does not store any bank information.

7. Disputes and conflict resolution

In case of conflict between a Client and a Sherlock (e.g., incomplete report, visit not carried out, misunderstanding), users may open a dispute via the platform. The VisitItForMe team will analyze the following elements:

  • content of the report
  • discussion history via the integrated chat

VisitItForMe reserves the right to decide in an equitable and objective manner.

8. Personal data

Data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Encrypted passwords.
  • No phone number is collected.
  • First name, last name and address are necessary for the service, but are not encrypted.

No data is sold to third parties.

9. Responsibility

VisitItForMe acts as an intermediary and cannot guarantee the availability, punctuality or quality of the Sherlock. The Sherlock is an independent person who has no subordinate relationship with VisitItForMe. The platform cannot be held liable for unreported disputes or incorrect data provided by a user.

10. Legal obligations, responsibilities and taxation

Sherlock using the VisitItForMe platform operate independently and on an occasional basis.

VisitItForMe acts solely as a technical intermediary connecting users for the provision of a service.

The platform is not an employer of Sherlocks, and no subordinate, employment or agency relationship exists between VisitItForMe and its users.

Each Sherlock is fully responsible for compliance with their tax, social security and administrative obligations related to activities carried out via the platform.

It is their responsibility to declare all income received to the tax authorities and, where applicable, to the relevant social security organizations.

VisitItForMe does not make any tax declarations or withholdings on behalf of its users.

In accordance with Article 242 bis of the French General Tax Code and the European DAC7 directive, VisitItForMe informs its users that:

  • Income generated via the platform is taxable;
  • The platform may be required to transmit certain information (identity, address, amounts received) to the tax authorities for any user who has carried out more than 30 transactions or received more than €2,000 gross during the same calendar year.

Users are invited to consult official information regarding their obligations on the following government websites:

VisitItForMe cannot be held responsible for a user's failure to comply with their tax, social security or administrative obligations, nor for failure to declare income.

Each user acts under their sole responsibility and releases VisitItForMe from any administrative, tax, social security or legal consequences related to the use of the platform.

Payments made on VisitItForMe are processed by an authorized payment service provider (PSP), in accordance with Article L521-1 of the French Monetary and Financial Code. VisitItForMe does not directly collect or retain funds belonging to users.

Before each transaction, users are informed of the total amount they will receive once the service is validated.

Each Sherlock undertakes to have civil liability insurance covering any damages related to the service provided. VisitItForMe does not provide any insurance of its own for services rendered between users.

Upon registration or before each assignment, VisitItForMe may ask the Sherlock to confirm that they are acting on a non-professional and occasional basis, and that the total amount received via the platform does not exceed €2,000 per year.

11. Amendments to the Terms of Use

These Terms of Use may be updated at any time. Users will be notified of any significant changes.
